Sneaky Snippet

From Bumper Sticker Bessie: Battle of Bones – my latest novel:

I am merely a whisper, a faint rustle through crisp leaves. My words come like fingernails scratching tiresomely on the inside roof of a coffin. Or a creaky gate. Or faint echoes in a bottomless well. My voice is as frosty as the niveous winter dawn. I am the blanched-bones of a skeletal, midwinter tree. The soft patter of snowmelt on its powdered limbs. The lingering fog down a lonely country lane.

Ooo a lovely tidbit! Can’t wait to read the full version! Niveous, what a lovely word (I did have to Google it!). Thank you for sharing!
